Day # 8 - Apologies

I'm very sorry I haven't been able to post anything on the blog... but no, i haven't given up just yet!
Sadly ever since i posted here i haven't been able to practice tricking, school started, already have projects do to...ugh. So I can keep some sort of training I finally decided to join the Taekwondo club of my college. I still didn't go to any class, but will probably do next week! So wish me luck!

Day # 7 - If my backs haven't break yet...

Hmm seems like I have more resistance than I thought , I managed a whole afternoon of falling right into the ground, and didn't broke anything??! Some higher force must be at play...
I've somehow got some results! After falling so much I got all like "Screw behind scared, let's hit the floor with my backs!" and so I did... My 'handsprings' seem to be improving, just not too much, I finally got some more courage to kick my feet, but I'm still falling straight. I assume I'm lacking the whole "spring effect" on my arms, I can't seem to push them correctly... My backs and ass took some blows out of it, but somehow...this didn't scare me, but motivated me, maybe I'm a sadist... Then again, doesn't matter. I assume I'm falling like that cause my head and backs aren't as they should...

Well, truth is...I'm getting close to the deadline and I'm only halfway done with this moves, and school is starting again. Guess I'll have to find a way to keep practising...

I'd like to apologize for this blog's dullness... I've only done a few improvements and my blog as already like 10 posts... I'll try to only post important stuff from now on! (Good thing I don't have any followers yet...).

Day # 6 - Rain is here...

I really feel bad , I haven't practice one bit this week... and I'm really not making much development... Sometimes I'm lazy, the rest is just can't... Now it all got way more difficult with the rain pouring down, I can't go outside without getting a nasty cold.. Oh summer, how I miss you. I'd love to practice inside, but I don't have any space, nor even a mattress or something, really hope the rain will go away soon, I only have like 3, maybe 4 , maximum 5 days to finish this schedule!! Ugh, I really wanna learn cooler moves...

Day # 5 - Getting my confidence !

I'm pretty embarrassed to say this but i actually didn't do much practice today... I was pretty busy. However I did some search and studied a bit, I found a very nice trick list divided by the skill classes... I assume classes mean level of difficulty...
Anyhow, don't think I'll do any of these before I can actually do a handspring or a back flip....ugh, It'd be pretty nice if I had a mattress to practice on...
Meanwhile while I was researching, I fell in love with a specific trick , yeah, I'm talking about Aerial!

Yeah...That's pretty damn sweet! (Note: This is an Axe2Aerial, not an Aerial, but you get the point...)

Day # 4 - YES! Hard work hardly fails!

Maybe I'm overexcited, maybe yes, but I've managed to do proper handstands today! Sure it's still not much... but I'm glad I actually did this! I guess once I actually start doing them right it sorta became automatic ... Still, I need to do more and better, now I can handle up to 5 seconds, and I land my feet without hurting myself. I need to perfect it so I can handle at least a whole minute... Think that's gonna take awhile though...
Meanwhile I start trying to do front handsprings, and I didn't get much results yet... Whenever I'm about to push my arms, my body just messes up so I won't fall on my backs... I get all hesitant so I fall, but since I get hesitant because I fall I can't really find a way to counter this... I assume I'll feel a lot more safe once I actually get it right once... So...guess its keep practising...
Although I'm having a lot of fun with all this, I can't help but to feel that I'm just tapping the tip of the iceberg...There are so many tricks, and I haven't even tried to do... meaning it'll be a bunch of years before I can actually do some fighting...
Oh, on other news, it seems like I can participate in my School's taekwondo classes, and i got a couple of friends who are interested in it too... So i guess pretty soon I'll know some moves~

Day # 3 - Ugh, no improvement

Today I didn't do a thing!! I just didn't have any time to do any workout. Guess it's kinda good I didn't, the pain went away and I'm ready to work out twice as hard tomorrow!
I decided that I'm really gonna add some workouts to my schedule, like the Frog stance and the Plank.
I also gathered some nice information... like , the power of a kick comes from the core of the body, a stronger core means a better balance, stuff like that. Guess strengthening my core will be crucial.
Since I've been making some weak posts I'll just post some motivational videos to keep my will strong >.>

Just awesome!

Day # 2 - I'm still stuck at the Handstand

So I still haven't managed to do the handstand correctly, well, didn't have much time to train anyhow.
Still I learned some pretty important stuff one of those tutorial sites, like putting pressure in the middle of my hands, not on the back , shoulders are important, and my abs need to get a little tense, oh and my backs need to be straight, arching them will ruin it. Guess that's all I learn today...
My body is aching like crazy, even walking is a pain! Still , guess this isn't exactly a negative thing...

Sorry for not having anything else to say~ Today was a bit of a weak day.

Day # 1, The Hand stand

ugh...Good God! My ass hurts, my back hurts, my legs and arms hurt, and that's really, really awesome! WOHO! Sure the pain sucks, I can barely stand up without having my ass complaining, but, hey, no pain no gain!
On to what's important, I was really excited about starting the train, so of course I decided to start doing the most awesome stuff (The Front handspring), of course, needless to say I didn't succeed... I just couldn't, I'd get my feet on the air, and I'd either fall or my feet would go back, depending on how much strength I'd kick into the air... Of course I realized I was missing something.
So I decided that I should be a little more humble and try to do more basic stuff, namely the handstand, i realized the handstand is some sort of gateway skill, once I've learned this, I'll probably be able to do some more complex moves, like the Front/back handspring.
Still... even the handspring is being a bit of a trouble, I can't handle more than 1-2 seconds with my feet in the air... I assume it might be cause my core needs to be strengthen... So I'll try to do some workouts like the frog stance and isometric workouts.
Well, after falling a lot trying to make it work I've come to a few conclusion that may serve as tips:
  • Don't raise your head too much, you'll lose balance, try looking up at your hands (when you have your hands on the floor that is...)
  • Keep your legs together and straight! Sometimes my legs would fall over and I'd just lose all my balance and fall.
  • Don't over-strain yourself, just don't, take your time... You'll just get tired and frustrated, then you'll stop caring and you might even get hurt. So, seriously, take your time. (I mean, I was all day out there trying to do this, and only managed it like 2~3 times) Guess the keyword here really is Patience.
  • Just don't give up, I was told Tricking is really frustrating to learn for some people, and everyone's learning speed varies, so it's understandable that people quit, since they don't see much results...
Well...guess that's all I've learned today... I'll keep practising the hand stand until I'm confident enough to try something else. Either ways I've still got plenty of time 'till I hit the deadline.

Tricking, first Schedule - Getting ready

So like i said before, I better start with the most basics of basics...  I have no gymnastic experience, in fact, I've barely practice any sport out PE classes. All i do is a lot of cycling, some running, some walking the dogs, some push ups and whatever, so starting may be a lil rough on me...

Well, after studying a lil bit about tricking I gathered some basic information. First, Strengthening our core seems very important... I mean, it seems that many of tricking moves imply raising my feet and legs way above ground, but this is because I need to raise my core, the movement of raising my legs and feet will help my core to raise... or at least that's what I understood? Remember I'm just a kid, I had no idea what I'm saying =3= . So the core seems to be pretty important, and I don't really know many ways to strengthen it except for a few workouts, so I'm gonna try to strengthen it through some gymnastic moves, like doing a cartwheel, Front handsprings, stuff like that, I guess.

Now, I guess it's also very important to not start doing stuff that are way out of our league... Seriously, yesterday i tried to do a back handspring , I was all like "pft, yeah, bet I can do this iiiiiisaleeeeee" yeah, I can't. All I got as a result was a aching back. Patience, one must have, to the force, control.

Ugh, i talk too much...Let's get to the point.
Here's my Schedule:
Deadline - 6 February (When I go back to school)
Stuff I'll have to learn - Let's start with the basic , ya?
-Front Handspring (This time I'll try to connect my feet with the ground, not my ass)
-Cartwheel
-Hand stand (with two hands, maybe later I'll do it with one)

I have no idea if this is too much or not, i heard it depends on the learning speed. But even if it isn't much, means I'll start the next schedule even sooner, right? No biggie.
Well... now things get real! Wish me luck and look forward my next posts!

Introduction

Hello~
I'm a martial arts enthusiast, even though I've only recently have had contact with them. I love to exercise, I do a lot of cycling, and try to keep myself healthy, even if I'm a bit of a sweet tooth.
One particular style that caught my attention was Taekwondo, sadly I haven't had the time or chance to practice it (university, exams, social life (if I still have any), sleeping... etc.), thought of joining a dojo, or whatever, but I'm having troubles joining one, meanwhile I heard my university had a teakwondo team, i should think about joining it...
Another style that got my all fired up was Tricking. I'm a huge fan of video gaming, and i'd be lying if i said there isn't a connection between my wish to learn martial arts and my games. There's this character in Tekken, Lili rocheforte, I believe, whose fighting style really stands out, I got curious and tried to identify it. Sadly the style was fictional (and probably impossible to reproduce in real life), but i wind up finding something very interesting. Apparently this character's fighting style is something like "Monegasque Tricking". "The hell is tricking?" apparently is some sort of fusion between acrobatics and martial arts! Now I'll be honest, I never really tried gymnastics, hell, even doing a back roll was too much for me, but some of those tricks...wow, I mean, I may break my whole body trying, but I gotta try and learn to do those!
That's when I had the mind-blowing idea of trying to mix these two styles! (*cue for gasp*) Tricking doesn't seem to be designed for hand-to-hand combat, in fact, most tricking 'combats' are actually stunt competition, still that's pretty awesome. It may not be a good style to ...y'know kick a crook in the face, but its still something worthy training. Taekwondo on the other hand, seems to be what you'd expect from a martial art, lots of flying kicks, punching in the face, explosions , etc... Tricking seems to take some moves from Taekwondo, like the 540 kick, which pretty much leaves me wondering "Well...how can i mix them further?" the answer lies in the heart of battle , I'm just making shit up, I have no idea, guess I'll find a way once I actually start training. After all, who says I can't? Yeah...and when I get them right, I'll give it a really cool name, yeah, and I'll participate in some tournament, just so people beg me to teach them, or something like that.
Right now I should start with the basic, before i try to go all chun-li on my backyard, tricking seems to take a lot of body strength (whoa, shocker) and flexibility, well since it's a form of gymnastics (I think...? Hope no one gets offended by all my blabbing, gosh, I bet I said a bunch of crap...) I should try to do those basic moves everyone seems to be able to do! But before all that i should actually come up with a plan, I'll post it later once I've figure it out. I'll also try to phase out my training both for tricking and for taekwondo, so i can have an idea how advanced (or not) i am, and how much I've developed. Hmm...yeah, seems like a good plan, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only self-taught martial artist wannabe around there...right? Who knows, i may actually do this!!
Think I've ran out of blabbing ... oh and the free running thing? Yeah, I dig that too... Will also try to train that! walking on walls, matrix style, all for the style *puts glasses on* Ah~*

Think that's all... Please look forward to see my development...or my utter failure. Something may come out of this, stick around you may have some fun!
Also, I'd very much appreciate if any practitioner (of either styles) gives me some tips or opinions~ Or just some random person's opinion...that's fine too.
Anyhow, Thanks and stay tuned please!!
